INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS

Aegean Journal of Natural Sciences welcomes all research articles, letters to the editor, and reviews related to the fields of biology, biochemistry and chemistry. Manuscripts should be written in English.

Manuscripts should be submitted using double-spaced typing on one side of A4 paper. Manuscripts should not have been published anywhere else. Including figures and schemes, manuscripts should not exceed 25 pages in length. Figures and schemes should be of the minimum printable size and must not exceed dimensions of 12×19 cm.

The Editorial Committee can return manuscripts for correction if the figures or schemes or the entire manuscript are not in the correct format. The Editorial Committee selects appropriate referees from both within and outside of Türkiye for all manuscripts. Manuscripts submitted by authors from the Ege University Faculty of Sciences will be sent to at least two referees from outside Ege University. The Editorial Committee decides whether a manuscript is acceptable or if corrections are necessary before acceptance, based on the referee’s report.

Article Preparation:

Title:

The title should be short and concise while covering the main points. The title should be on a separate page which must include:

  • Title
  • Author(s) names
  • Name and address of the institution where the work was carried out.

Abstract:

All articles must include an abstract of 200 words or less that summarizes the primary goal and subject matter. A minimum of three and a maximum of five keywords should be listed below the abstract.

Contents:

The article should be divided into sections such as:

  • Introduction
  • Experimental Section (Material and Method)
  • Results
  • Conclusions and Discussion

These sections should be presented in this order. Subdivisions can be numbered as 1.1, 1.2, etc.

References:

References should be numbered in the order they appear in the text. They should be listed at the end of the manuscript on a separate page. In the article, reference numbers should be placed in square brackets. References should be formatted as shown in the examples below:

 

  • For Books: Jackson, J.D., Classical Electrodynamics, 2nd ed., John Wiley, New York, (1975).
  • For Articles Published in Journals: Alamany, P.A., and Zureck, D.H., Phy. Rev. 49, 956-962 (1994).
  • For Articles Published from the Proceedings of Scientific Meetings: Stauffer, J.R. in: Angular Momentum Evolution of Young Stars, ed. S. Catalano and J.R. Stauffer, NATO ASI Series No: 117 (1994).
  • For Thesis: Pınar, N.M., The Pollen Morphology of Turkish Chenopodiaceae, Ph.D. Thesis, University of Ankara (1994).
  • Footnotes: Footnotes should be avoided as much as possible. If necessary, use an asterisk (*). Footnotes must be placed at the bottom of the page in an 8-point font.

Figures and Tables: All diagrams, graphics, and photographs are to be referred to as "Figures" and numbered accordingly. The placement of the figures should be mentioned clearly in the text. Figure legends should be listed on a separate page using double-spaced typing. All tables should have a title placed above them. Each table should have its own number and should be listed on a separate page using double-spaced typing.

Correction of Proofs: Page proofs will be sent to the corresponding author for final review. Only minor typographical errors should be corrected at this stage. The final corrected version must be submitted via the journal’s web page
